I transitioned four years ago. I got HIV before that. Recently, I have faced discrimination from my landlord. I feel that when I mention it at the clinic, they should be able to help me. But they say there’s nothing they can do. I’ve been looking for somewhere else I could go.

Legal Services
Someone in my circle told me Vivent Health offers legal advice, so I went to see what it was about. They said it was absolutely discrimination I experienced from my landlord, and that they could advocate for my rights. There is a clinic right there, too. So, I asked about it since I haven’t been happy at the one I go to.

HIV Case Management Services
That same day I met Tracy, a case manager. She is so much like me and experienced the same kind of treatment I did. She explained all the services they provide, and I was like, whaaat? I said the situation with my landlord was bad and she connected me with someone who could help me.

Housing Programs
Unbelievable. I met with Justin about my living arrangements. He got me an apartment with a landlord who’s been non-judgmental. When I saw Tracy that day I asked if I could be a patient there as well.

Medical Care
I had my old clinic transfer my medical records to Vivent Health. I got to see a doctor right away. He did the lab work and a physical and I found out I am pretty healthy. But the best part is I have a doctor who can treat my HIV and me as the person I want to be. They treat me with respect here. I can’t thank everyone enough.

I go to get my medications in the same building as everything else I have had access to. I have never felt so welcomed and at ease as I do here. I have never had my health care integrated like this or even dreamed this was possible. I am looking forward to the future for the first time in my life.

Behavioral Health Care
I can’t stop thinking about the incident with my landlord. I feel dejected and am questioning my sense of worth. Tracy sends me to Bree for counseling. I soon realize that I am better than that experience and Bree feels like one of my friends. She makes me laugh and helps me find the confidence to hold my head high.

Other Services: Dental Care, Food Pantry and Prevention
I will see the dentist here as I have not been as good as I should with catching cavities and getting cleanings. I know that if I ever need it, I can get help with food and nutrition on the same floor as the pharmacy. And with any relationships, I will absolutely return here for our needs.
